The Shagya Arab is developed from the "AraberRasse" (Arab's race)  pursued in pure breeding  of the Hungarian and Austrian state studs Babolna and Radautz. Today Shagya Arabs are bred internationally on the base of the approved family horses. The national breeding books are closed (pure breeding), only the horses who can be led back consistently the foundation studs and special, approved Purebred Arabians may be used for breeding Shagya Arabs.

Purebred Arabians are called on account of her nobility and her hardness the diamonds among the horses.

The consequent breeding work for more than 200 years has on the base of selected family mares and selected Purebred Arabians with the help of the pure breeding method has formed
